Painless Red Spots Tongue

April 2011, repositories and open access to research results

Increasingly policy initiatives and emerging worldwide movement for open access ( open access). Stands out now because of the importance to our researchers, established by the European Commission and the European Research Council (ERC).

The European Commission has launched a pilot project under the 7th Framework Programme involving articles published in scientific journals subject to peer review and open access. In this way all researchers beneficiaries of a project under the FP7, which have signed the financing agreement after August 2008 must be deposited in open institutional repository or theme of their research results. Depending on the area

work apply different terms. FP7 areas are:
-
Energy - Environment (including climate change)
- Health
- Information Technology and Communication
- Scientific Infrastructure (e-infrastructure)
-
Science in Society - Science Social, Economic and Humanities

In the first five areas depñósito the term is 6 months for the other is 12 months. It is the now infamous Clause 39.

With this measure, the European Commission aims to ensure that the results of research funded under FP7 are disseminated as possible and ensure the use and impact between the international scientific community.
Thus emerges
OpenAIRE (Open Access Infrastructure for Research in Europe) with the aim of providing free access infrastructure to support research and researchers so they can comply with the European mandate. OpenAIRE provide a network of depots open to give free online access to knowledge generated by scientists who have received grants from the 7 th Framework Programme and European Research Council.

From the Library and Archives of the UAM work to provide researchers UAM platform to help them comply with this clause in the contract. We have adapted our institutional repository, Biblos-e: File OpenAIRE the requirement and we offer to charge for their work, respecting and reporting in cases where it is required of the policy of the journals in relation to copyright.

Find out more about this subject can consult the presentation of the Commission.
